Methodological projects

Methodological projects

Phenome-Emphasis develops Methodological Common Projects (MCP) at national level, allowing installations to share imaging workflows, information system and models. MCP leaders are specialists of each topic (i.e. not plant scientists) to ensure that solutions remain up-to-date and are generic at infrastructure level and beyond. This improves the services provided by Phenome-Emphasis and allows progress of the phenomic community. Results are shared with the consortium via ad hoc meetings, and beyond it via an annual meeting gathering stakeholders. Phenome-Emphasis develops:

  1. Imaging techniques, in controlled conditions and in the field, using artificial intelligence and organized in workflows. New developments involve biotic interactions, in particular the imaging of multi-species canopies and imaging of plants affected by micro organisms (MCP1)
  2. An information system that organizes and stores very large datasets, in such a way that they can be re-used by the whole Plant community(FAIR:: findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable), and tools to handle datasets, e.g. data visualization, outlier detection and spatial analyses (MCP2)

This short video explains the benefits of data management and the FAIR data principle (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) for plant scientists. Find out more about how EMPHASIS will promote this principle here:  https://emphasis.plant-phenotyping.eu...
